The guide: hotel breakfast in Lisbon

Hotel breakfast has stopped being a guests-only privilege. The idea we started in Porto is coming to Lisbon: walking into a premium hotel's breakfast room, booked the way you book a restaurant, no room required.

Lisbon has one of the country's liveliest brunch scenes, and hotels are the next chapter. Historic rooms in Baixa and Chiado, flagship hotels on Avenida da Liberdade, terraces with the Tagus behind. The city's press already covers hotel brunches open to non-guests; what's missing is a simple way to book them.

The model will be the same as Porto's: pick the hotel, the date and the time, pay online, with instant confirmation and free cancellation up to 24 hours before. In Porto and Gaia, prices currently run from €20 to €100 per person; Lisbon prices will be announced with the first hotels.

While Lisbon gets ready, Porto is under three hours away by train. See hotels in Porto
