Porto and Gaia
Where it all began, and the destination with the most choice: 14 hotels, between 15 and 38 euros per person, from the Aliados to Boavista and the Cais de Gaia. Three, in Gaia, have a confirmed view of the Douro, such as the Forte de Gaia, Autograph Collection. In the centre, the InterContinental Porto and The One Monumental Palace are on the Aliados.

Lisbon
5 hotels, between 20 and 35 euros per person: the Pousada de Lisboa on Praça do Comércio, Le Consulat in Chiado, the Palácio do Governador in Belém, Wine & Books Lisboa in Ajuda and the LUSTER Hotel in Arroios.

Cascais
2 hotels with the sea in front, between 28 and 35 euros per person: the Grande Real Villa Itália, in the former residence of the last king of Italy, and the Pestana Cidadela Cascais, inside the Cidadela. They are about 40 minutes by train from Cais do Sodré. The guide is hotel breakfast in Cascais.
The Algarve
7 hotels, between 10 and 30 euros per person. Six are five-star resorts in Albufeira, at the Herdade dos Salgados and in São Rafael, such as the Westin Salgados and the Kimpton Atlântico. The seventh is the Aldeia da Pedralva, a restored rural village on the Costa Vicentina.
